Select & Customize Your Event Space
There are many different VR platforms to choose from where you can host events. During the challenge, you'll learn about several options and choose the platform that best meets the requirements of your event (with guidance along the way). You will also create your avatar and customize your space so that it shines on the day of your event.
Find Your Topic, Audience, and Team
Beginning the first week of the challenge, you'll choose your topic, event framework, and start uncovering what you need to know about your audience. We'll review where to find your audience, discovering what questions they might have, and how to connect with them. We'll also walk you through how to build and manage a small team of volunteers to help moderate and record your event.
Promote & Go Live with Your Event!
Learn how to promote your event through social media and other communities to improve audience turnout. During the challenge, you'll create a promotional strategy and learn some ways to automate certain key promotional efforts. We'll even provide you with a few scripts and templates so you can focus on the activities that matter. Finally, you and your team will have the opportunity to prepare for the big day and make sure everything's in order with our Event Day Checklist.
My Story
Hi, I'm Jess! Thanks for dropping by. I'm an experienced marketer, MBA graduate, and technology enthusiast who loves the creative process and bringing innovative ideas to life. I've been dabbling in virtual reality for the past few years as part of Educators in VR and Jim Intriglia's Edutainment team. Getting to share ideas and collaborating with other passionate individuals from all around the world has been amazing...and it's all been possible through virtual reality. VR and AR technologies have been around for a long-time, but so many leaps have been made in the technology and adoption in recent years. It's exciting to be able to take part in the world of VR while we're still uncovering all of the possibilities. I hope to find ways to impact the course of VR to better empower humanity through education, equity of access, and community building.
